Thrifty Tuesday

It has been a fairly thrifty week, even with Kurt and Kris being home for a number of days. I managed to send them back with decent care packages and hopefully bigger care packages when they come home at Christmas. Kris says he will come home for a bit next month. I should have a list of tech things for him to do.

So what thrifty things have I been up to.

1.  Picked what remained in the garden.

2.  Made tomato sauce using the slow cooker, which gave me time to make the birthday cake and pies for the weekend.

3.  Used up more orphan balls of yarn knitting scarves.

4.  Instead of setting up the sewing machine I worked on quilting by hand.

5.  Cut the fabric to make Kurt's Christmas quilt (could be enough left to make him some pot holders or some coasters).

6.  Used up some of the fabric stash to make slashing for Kurt's quilt.

7.  Packaged and froze leftovers from meals. I will be able to have a few no cook meals this week. Just pull and warm up. Love it and there is no waste.

8.  Changed out the spring/summer clothes for heavier winter clothing. Put aside a few items that need hemming, or repairs.

9.  Repaired the neckline on one night gown.

10. Saved elastics that were on veggie bundles.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  4. I love that things you do. I also save elastics from veggies they come in handy. I also am feeling the season change and am rather cold today!

  5. You're an inspiration! I think we tend to do thrifty things without giving a whole lot of thought to what we're doing. You inspire me to pay more attention!
