So our provincial and federal governments made their usual daily statements on the Covid-19 pandemic.
Things do not look good, even though we are keeping things under control and most provinces are more or less keeping a handle on things.
The Prime Minister hinted that we could in fact be practicing social distancing until after the summer. That is a very long time. He also stated that thing would probably not be back to a new normal until a vaccine is formulated. Then it is the problem of making sure everyone gets the vaccine. We could be in for a very long haul.
What can we do? Just keep on keeping on. Staying safe, practicing what we have been told to do and doing the best we can.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
Here's to taking the time to learn a few new things! I'm learning how to make raised garden beds. Pretty fun. What new thing are you learning?
ReplyDeleteI think your Prime Minister is being the most honest of anyone I have heard. I don't understand what makes people think this will disappear without a way to prevent it or at least to quickly identify who has it and trace and test all their contacts. We do have to just keep on as you say. Stay well.
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie, I read your last two posts..You mentioned going to Chris's, is that allowed...my hubby goes to walmart in mask and gloves early in the morning but that is mostly the extent of our driving away from home...Daughter is coming by today with take out to sit across the living room from us since we can't go outside and eat...we have been having 70 and 80 degree days but it will be 38 tonight and so today is in the forties with 14mph winds which make it colder...I wanted to comment on the peat pots, hubby makes his own out of newspaper wrapped around a small jar then wetting it so it holds its shape when he slips the jar out..Stay safe

While frowned on we more or less have to go. He broke his hip in the middle of February, lives in an apartment with no elevator. That means he would have to carry his garbage or groceries up 4 flights of stairs, navigating the stairs holding on to his crutches. The last Dr. appointment he was told while the hip is healing it isn't healed and so he still can not put any weight on it. I figure it is better for his health and ours (stress) if we go up once in awhile and do a cleaning, bring him his groceries and make meals ahead for him. It is pretty much in, stay in after getting the many bags of garbage out, and then straight back home.
DeleteHowever I think we might be keeping the rules a bit better than those who are still babysitting their grandchildren, other peoples children and not really practicing social distancing at all.
God bless.
God bless.
I believe what he says. Anyone who thinks this will be over quickly unfortunately is wrong. Even if a vaccine is made and immediately delivered to countries that can afford it there will be many pockets of it around for some time. I think we all need to expect status quo and figure out how to deal with that, no matter how sad and lonely it is. Hugs

I'm afraid he's right and this isn't going to be over any time soon. Hopefully we can relax slightly over the summer but I anticipate we'll be living in a different world, queuing up to shop, much more sanitizing of public spaces, and worrying about the person who coughs nearby.
ReplyDeleteTake care and stay well!
