Thrifty and Frugal
Another week has crept on by. Since the sun is shining a bit more and the temperature has risen I don't feel as hemmed in.
So what thrifty and frugal things have I been up to this past week.
1. I mended the elastic on two pairs of fairly new underwear.
2. Made my own yogurt and that seems to be going very well. I kind of forgot the cost of my machine when figuring out savings, but in about 12 weeks it will be paid for and then my savings will mount up.
3. Used appliances to cook most of the week, and when I did use my oven (one day) I made sure it was full.
4. Using up leftovers for our lunches. Keeping the fridge clean.
5. As our 122 year old paper has shut down I decided it was time to find all our flyers online. So I have spent some time doing so.
6. All the regular frugal things I always do each and every week.
Now Harvey's frugal endeavors.
1. Did all the snow blowing on his own.
2. Replaced various water filters in the house.
3. Working on the table still.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
We used to have two local papers and both have given up. Luckily a new one has started up but it's not nearly as filled with news as the old versions were. We often get fliers for stores that are nowhere near here.
ReplyDeleteNice work! I made a big soup that used up a lot of items that needed to go. I planned it around the potatoes that were days away from needing to be tossed. It made 8 servings for the fridge & freezer. (Hawaii Planner)
ReplyDeleteNewspapers seem to be a thing of the past. It's like a book to me, better to have the hard copy in my hands than an online account. Just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteWe don't get the flyers and coupons the way we used to even though we still have a paper but it isn't worth the money to buy it. Most of the coupons I find online for our local stores are all digital coupons. Call me old fashioned but I prefer paper coupons.
ReplyDeleteI do all of my couponing on line now. I cancelled the paper when Hubs passed. I love how you list frugal!!
ReplyDeleteWell done on all your frugal efforts, especially swapping to searching for coupons online. It would be easy just to not bother without the newspaper, but you've made the effort to seek out the coupons.
