Thrifty Tuesday

It has been a pretty thrifty week.

I have baked bread (yea for my bread machine).

Mended one of Harvey's shirts.

Unpacked all the old sheets that Kris gave me to use as backing for quilts (kind of tricked him into cleaning out the hall closet, but I did get enough backing to probably make 7 or 8 quilts).

Got my umbrella clothesline set up. Now that the weather is improving I am going to wash it down and hopefully next week start hanging all the clothes outside.

Started my plants and will save a great deal of cash if they all come up.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. Love the energy and the fun. I have some shirts waiting in a box for me, to turn into blankets. Awhile back I went through it and ditched the real bad stuff but kept the workable goods. Happy Sewing.

  2. I love a good windy drying day, it means less ironing too.

  3. That's going to keep you busy quilting. I'm currently finishing one last quilting project before I start anything new.

  5. We are unable to hang clothes outside (due to a bylaw in Comox) - but - I do hang them in my laundry room to cut drying time of those that must be done in the dryer by half. Good on the bread. My friend wants to give me a hunk of her live sour dough starter but I think it is like a kid, lots of maintenance once you start it as you have to keep baking bread/making pancakes as you feed it and it continues to grow constantly. We don't eat that much bread so for now I don't think so, maybe if things get worse and we have more food shortages I will change my mind.
