Sunday Ramblings

We are back to wearing masks and social distancing at Mass once again. Not that Harvey and I really ever took them off, but it was very nice that Father could speak without one. By the end of his sermon he is hard enough to understand due to his getting excited without a mask, little lone wearing one.

We have a meeting on Friday as to how we are going to present the bible study. With cases rising and mandates being reinstated for some things, it might be that we end up having to cancel half way through this bible study. That has happened with some of the previous studies. It would be too bad if this happens yet again as people pay quite a bit to attend.

Cases keep rising and our little 31,000 population area is almost at 90 cases. However our neighbouring 21,000 population area is at 126 cases so there is that. The southeast corner of my province and where we live is, well, made up of a great many anti whatever's. In fact some are so anti-vaccine they are giving up their jobs. I wonder if they realize they will not be eligible for unemployment if they quit. As my Mom would have said some people are not the brightest crayons in the box.

I finished the quilt today and will be dropping it off at my friends some time tomorrow. Now I get to work on my own projects and hopefully make some headway on them. The t-shirt rug, my cross stitch and my own quilt are calling me. I also need to get started on my Christmas gift list. Things are moving quickly towards that holiday and the end of the year.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. You are so right - things are moving quickly towards Christmas! I can't believe it almost October. I'm sure the quilt is beautiful and will mean so much to your friend. We went back under mask orders here in August. There are so many people that just refuse to wear them because they are worried about their freedoms. I like what your Mom said about how some people are not the brightest crayons in the box! There seems to be a lot of them these days. The Delta variant has been all over the place here and we are afraid to even leave the house much at least until we can get the booster which should be soon. Please take care!

  2. Hope your numbers drop soon, it's scary, here in south east UK, our numbers are rising again, but mainly with the younger people and those who chose not to get the jab. Waiting for our booster jab this month, we always wear a mask. But we are not going anywhere our media created such a to-do about lack of lorry drivers, cause a rush at the fuel stations and now everywhere is empty.

  3. Oh yes, those boxed crayons (and packages of light bulbs!). I guess all we can do is do our level best to keep ourselves safe and stay home as much as possible. Must admit staying home isn't a hardship for me because there's always plenty to keep me occupied.

  4. I'm saddened to hear of the rising cases in your area. Ours are pretty much at bay but Ontario's numbers are still up.
I shudder at the word Christmas only because of what weather that means if we are stuck here. I do mean 'stuck' in our case. LOL

  5. If only those folks calling for their freedom would realize that if they adhered to the public health measures we'd all experience our freedom much sooner. It makes me sad and mad at the same time. It's amazing they're willing to give up their income for a lost cause.

Enjoy your projects. Christmas is definitely getting closer as is winter. I'd take the former, not so happy about the latter.

  6. Boy your area sounds like our area. We are back to masks in stores and churches and just staying home as much as possible.

  7. There are so many anti vaccine and anti maskers out there. It just gets so old. I pray for an end to all of this. I do hope you get to spend some of your time on your own crafts soon. It will be Christmas time before we know it for sure.
