Thrifty Tuesday

Before I start my post for tonight I want to tell you all that we were under a tornado watch for a little while before supper. Everything is good, and the hail was not bad, just a few small bits for a short period of time.

I am going to try and upload a picture/video. Hope it works.

I can't do the video sorry.

So what thriftiness was practiced on the old homestead this week?

I have been watching free television on my android box again.

Eating fresh beans, and cucumbers from the garden.

Used up lots of little balls and orphan skeins of yarn knitting those 13 pairs of mitts for Kurt to take to school.

Started to use up more yarn from my stash knitting Harvey's Christmas sweater.

Collected another old sheet to use as backing for any quilt I decide to make (I have quite a collection of these now).

Mended a small hole in a pillow case.

Saved the elastics and twist ties from various bags from my shopping late last week.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. Those photos are amazing...and a little scary.Glad you are ok
Funnily enough.. I was about to take some old sheets to Goodwill I never thought of using them for Quilt backing. Thank you for the idea.
    Stay safe
    Phoebe x

  2. You have been very energetic
I hope those cloud tails were not to close to you.

  3. OH. MY. WORD. Once I saw those tornado (or "almost tornado") pictures, I could hardly concentrate on anything afterward. *haha* I'm so glad ya'all are ok. Love, Andrea xoxo

  4. Wow, that photograph of the tornedo is amazing. Must be pretty scary to be on Tornedo watch.

  5. Your tornado photos look really frightening.
Thank you for the letter which arrived this week. Lovely to hear from you.

  6. Wow what amazing photos Jackie. Something we don't see very often in the UK but we have had freak ones. I haven't mastered how to upload a video despite reading the jargon 10-12 times!

  7. Those pictures are very scary to me. Nice in a photo but I don't ever want to see that around me!

  8. Amazing photos and glad you didn’t have any problems

  9. I'd heard there was a tornado that touched down in your area. It sounds like there wasn't much damage, thank goodness. Glad you were safe and sound.

    Take care and stay well!

  10. Wow, I'd be so scared. We don't have tornados here in California. Yeah I wouldn't even know how to act...
