Friday Frugalities

Ahhh, that time of the week when I list some (not all because I have listed them before) of my frugal hits this week.

I have been using up the frozen packages of cooked meat from the fridge freezer to great effect. I almost have one basket in the freezer empty!!! The meals have gone over with Harvey very well and any extra has gone into the fridge (meat wise, cause sometimes I put extra into the bag) to be used for sandwiches at lunch.

I spent sometime cleaning and decluttering the sewing/craft room. I found lots of black 2" strips which means that when I made Kris's purple/black/silver quilt I really did not need to cut more black strips. Now that I know what I have there should be no waste.

Went for my frugal exercise every day this week even though my knee was touchy and the weather had gotten quite chilly.

I am sitting at 20 no spend days for the month, which while not quite at my target yet I am getting pretty darn close.

I will manage to put $40.00 in my savings envelope this month, which is a good thing. I use this to buy gifts for Harvey and sometimes supplies for sewing or knitting.

I found 35 cents on my walks this week and that money went directly into the change jar.

Harvey is remembering to turn down the heat in our bedroom after making the bed most days. A really great thing as he used to forget all the time.

Best yet gas has fallen well below the $1.00 a liter here and I am loving the fact that it will cost even less to fill the vehicles.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. Wow, your gas prices are great. It's quite low here for us too, but we don't use as much these days as we've got a hybrid and it has cut our usage in half. Every little still helps though.

  2. Yay for your savings this month...we have a change jar, too, and when it gets full, I put the money in the savings account....gotta save for a rainy day, always. One never knows when it will be needed.
I love that you have made a lot of your gifts...
    xoxo
