Saturday Roundup

Wow here we are at another Saturday for the month. Even in these days of heightened restriction the days seem to be slipping by. I suppose that keeping busy helps.

I promised myself that I would declutter and simplify my life and so far have made a darn good start.

I have decided to start project declutter again this year. So far I have decluttered the living room, dining room/office, and the bathroom. My house is now minus 122 items either through recycling, or tossing (mostly papers and out of date items from our first aid kit). I found a few things that needed to be moved to their proper homes as well.

Tomorrow I work on the kitchen. I might only get the drawers done, but it will be a start.

I made a new to us recipe to use up a bag of ham from the freezer.

This is known as Breakfast Bake and Harvey really enjoyed it. I would almost say it is like a crustless quiche. Served us two nights and I had some for lunch.

Then I made one of Harvey's favourites, Sausage Casserole. This uses small pork sausages and lots of veggies. Once again there was enough for two meals for each of us and some of the veggies will make my lunch tomorrow.

It really is a waste not world we are living in now. The more I can stretch things the better I like it. Makes it so much easier to save the cash to replace things in our home and remove one rather large Maple tree that is at the end of it's life this spring or summer.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. I am big on not wasting food. Hubs eats most leftovers for lunch. We usually have chickens for the table scraps or peels. But we will get 10 new chicks in a few weeks.

  2. Yummmmooooooo.... especially the breakfast bake with ham, although both look absolutely scrumptious! Ham is so versatile, isn't it. ~Andrea xoxo

  4. We've had the breakfast casserole but in a different format, love it! I'm interested in the sausage casserole, what is under the sausages and cooking instructions would be great! We eat a lot of the little sausages but just the plain old fried version. It gets boring fast. :)

  5. Looks like both were delicious. I do the casserole but use far less ingredients. I get four meals. I see Co-op has its 10 for 10 sale on. May go in and have a snoop.

I guess you could say we get 4 meals here as well, two for each of us.

      God bless.

  6. I'm slowly starting the process of de-cluttering. You've done well to get so much done!

Both meals look very tasty. Like Patsy, I'd definitely be interested in the sausage casserole. I'm certain my son would like it.

    Have a great week!
