A Bit Of Nice

Last night I had our parish council meeting and as is usual the meeting lasted way too long and only one person more or less got their words heard. Should be used to that as this person always has the last word. Still we are supposed to be a team, yet a team that seems to have more people off said team than on said team.

Woke up at 4 this morning and laid, trying to sleep until 6. I decided that since I was unable to sleep I may as well get up and see what I could accomplish. Managed to get a great deal accomplished, but now I am exhausted and ready to crawl into my nice warm bed. The only problem with that is I would once again be up way too early for comfort.

The weather was pretty nice today, the morning was a bit chilly, but by afternoon the sun was shining, birds were singing (even though it was just the sparrows) and I headed out for a walk to get the mail. Took my walking poles along just in case. They seem to make me a bit steadier and digging into the ice and snow keep me from slipping and falling.

Supper last night continued into todays meal. I always seem to cook too much when one of the boys has been home. Means a bit of a change to the menus again this week, but having another night of just warming food up is like having a bit of a holiday.

The hand quilting has gone well the past couple of days, however Harvey keeps asking if I am done yet. Ahhh, no. It will still take at least another month before I get this quilt on my bed.

Knitting is going slowly. I have changed the pattern a bit and that is causing me a few minor problems. Pretty sure once I get on a roll things will move right along.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. There's always one person at any meeting who just has t out-talk everyone else! It's the same the whole world over.

  2. I've been having similar problems sleeping lately and have been waking very early and getting up. I think it was stress at work causing it, but I seem to be getting back to normal now.

  3. Was at our parish meeting too last night. My dispute just got put aside to a sub committee that has a hopeless chair who won't call meetings. The other 10 members of the public there to protest they have waited 2 years for a new lease for the village hall they run as volunteers. Think I still wait 2 years? Not a chance, mate.
